Off to Nantucket-Figawi Weekend

Drove to Braintree to meet the girls in the morning and drove to Hyannis where we made the 1pm ferry to Nantucket. We arrived around 3pm, unloaded our bags at the house on Milk Street and then went to Stop-n-Shop. We stocked up and then headed back to the house. It is so cute and Denise and I were in the purple girls room with bunkbeds, it has been a long time since I have slept in a bunk bed.

I went to dinner at the Tavern with my friend Heather Andrews (my old manager at Tiffany & Co.) and caught up on all the scoop. She is managing the Laura Munder store on Main Street for the whole summer and living on Milk Street too. We met a group of French guys there for the weekend, one of them a hairdresser who kept telling me how great my hair was..if he only knew what it normally looked like.

I met up with the girls and we headed to the Chicken Box. Not a late night but very fun.

UPS Delivery

This morning, my huge delivery of 15 boxes was supposed to arrive from Miami with all of my stuff. Of course, 2 boxes didn’t make it, one of which was full of my entire bedding set. The other one has shoes and some clothes, but I can’t remember exactly what was in there. What a nightmare.

Finally Newport!!!!

I left in the morning in a cab, got on the train with time to spare, got to Pelham and got a cab to my car at Helen’s sisters. From there drove to Newport and made it for lunch with Brooke. Driving over the Newport bridge, it was so exciting, I really can’t believe I made it already. Brooke and I went to the Blue Buddha trunk show in Providence in the afternoon and made it back to catch the girls before bed. Barrett immediately asked where my beads were and Brittan spent an hour cleaning out my purse. So funny. Gearing up for the American Idol finale tonight. Which David will it be??????

New York City

Isn’t the “slower drivers to the right” a universal rule???? I have encountered the most annoying drivers who insist on staying in the left lane going under the speed limit. My trip from Richmond took much longer than expected I pulled into Helen’s sister’s driveway around 6pm and got to the train and into the city by 7pm, 4 hours later than expected. Nicole and I ate at Tortilla Flats among the 22 year olds playing bingo. Very fun.

Tuesday morning, hung out with Jordan in the morning and then was off to the National Stationery Show at the Javitz Center. I have never seen cuter stuff. I picked up Preppy Cards, Whitney English and Paper Menu. I am on the way to having my own little mini stationery store in my new apartment when I get back to Miami in the Fall. I aaw Allison and Kristen at the Allie Munroe booth and all my other vendors that I sell. Very fun. I left and got back to Nicole’s the girls from Olivia Browning called so I jumped back in a cab and went back to the show. They are opening a cute boutique in Charlestown, MA and placed an order with me at the Boston Gift Show. They are so fun and are planning a trunk show for me and Ann Forger for June/July.

In the afternoon, I was at Lisa’s with all the Sayfies and babies. It was so fun and there were babies everywhere! I will be sad to leave tomorrow!

Confessions of a Shopaholic Party

Helen, Tatiana and I went to the YMCA Casino Night at the Collection and hung out for a while. We left and headed to Macaluso’s for dinner. As soon as we sat down, Joey called and told me to come to the bowling alley for a fun party. It ended up being the wrap party for the Confessions of a Shopaholic movie from the books that we LOVE. I am in the author’s fan club and she was there. It was so great and Tatiana grabbed Isla Fisher before she left and got this great shot.
