Shows, Shows and More Shows…

I am sitting on my couch beading as I take a break to type this.  This time of year is crazy for someone like me, trying to sell their wares and also keep up with a full-time job.  This weekend, we have a new ship coming to Miami for its inaugural celebration, so it is sheer mayhem.  One of my favorite shows is Friday morning, the Beaux Arts Holiday Market.  This show brings out fun shoppers and old friends, and usually has the most delicious food ever.

This is what has been selling…
First, these long sparkly necklaces.  They can be worn long or doubled up.  For $45, they are a great gift for you or someone on your list…
Some sparkly bracelets with gold disk charms..so cute for $65 each…

and lots of pearls…

My best selling notepads have been super popular…

Patterned, cardstock notepads with monograms $18 each

and my favorite thing..a 5 x 5 acrylic box holding a ton of cardstock note sheets for $36.  This is something that EVERYONE could use on their desk.  LOVE

I am loving this time of year, but am needing to clone myself to get to everyone and keep up at work..I also could use some elves to string beads!!!

Destination Fashion

This past Saturday was Destination Fashion, an over-the-top event to raise money for the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.  This event is the only one where they actually close down the Bal Harbour Shops for the night. It was packed with so many fun people, tons of old friends that I had not seen in ages and excellent people watching.  The beginning of the evening was a dinner with a fashion show and a presentation of Women of Style and Substance.  Each lady was escorted by a celebrity of some sort-so tons of sports stars, tv stars and just plain stars…
Stephanie on stage with MC Tom Brokaw…

Samantha with Colin Egglesfield..my pick for Christian Grey…

Some of my girls with Matthew Settle from Gossip Girl-so cute

The dinner set up..it was amazing…
Me and Ricky..the best date ever…

Then the party followed into the shops where all different destinations were staged and desserts were everywhere…

Nicole, me and Cynthia
My cute friend Zaria…
The Sayfie girls…

There were even Real Housewives there…
Me and Cynthia…
Meg and Brett

The night ended with an Enrique Iglesias concert..girls were going wild.
There were a million phones in the air with people video taping..so funny
By the end, a ton of girls were on stage!

The entire night was amazing.  During the dinner, a longtime supporter, Christine Lynn pledged a donation of $25 million to the Miami Project.  This kicked off a few more impromptu donations and the total raised for the night was $31 million!  So proud of Suzie and Stephanie Sayfie..they are unbelievable!  Congratulations!

Amy and her Mom with Enrique after the concert.

Heavenly Fall

A couple of weeks ago, I popped into Country French to see what was going on for Fall.  There were so many beautiful things to look at, I wasn’t sure where to start…

Lots of Fall colors mixed in with the amazing, clean white furniture

I am DYING for this orchid and the pretty pot it is in…

Or, I would take this one…
Every room had something I am putting on my list.
Then I dropped in this week, and they were already getting ready for Christmas!  The room on the left side was filled with red and green treasures…

Check out Country French’s new website

Emerald City

Last weekend was the Beaux Arts Ball, the oldest costume ball in Miami.  This year’s theme was Emerald City and you can’t imagine how creative people can be with the Wizard of Ox.  Allie Munroe designed the invitation (can you see the glitter on the left?) and they even special ordered the flying monkey stamps below.  I love these…
The Four Seasons was transformed into Oz..our friend Holli brought out her team and whipped everything into shape.  People took the theme in all different directions…
Marika and Adrian came with their own “munchkins”…

Kristen and Kristin
Amy came as a witch..green makeup and all
Me and Cece

The Gala Chairs

Our artist friend Lu hand-made this outfit..

This bunch came dressed in their Oz outfits (from the tv show)
This group always has the cutest costumes…Lollipop Guild
The ballroom looked so amazing.with large screens playing Wizard of Oz all night..

And on the way out..irresistible Krispy Kreme donuts.
It was such a fun night…next up Bare Bones Ball and Arts Festival!

Trick or Treating…

After dodging zombies, witches and Black Swan ballerinas at work, I raced home to go trick or treating with friends.  I managed to avoid candy and chocolate all day-a miracle but not sure I could resist Meg’s bucket full of chocolate sitting out for the night.  Her candy corn has been staring at me for weeks.  I used to LOVE candy corn…

Little Dorothy (Ashley) had a trip to the ER today and was sporting a new cast on her elbow.  Luckily, her sling matched her outfit and she was in great spirits.  Elizabeth was Minnie Mouse and was accessorizing before we headed out…

They piled into their wagon and we set off…
By the second house, Elizabeth got the hang of it and was having a blast.
I loved trick-or-treating as a child.  But, things weren’t so diplomatic in my house.  My brother and I took the candy collecting very seriously.  We would survey our loot as we went and would alter our path if things weren’t going the right way then, we would get home and dump everything out.  My brother would put his in a large bowl and tuck it away, inventoried.  I would, of course, eat my candy like a normal child and when I was almost finished with my bowl days later, my brother would bring his out and then torment me by eating it in front of me, never sharing.  Oh, childhood memories….

My favorite Halloween candy used to be the mini Life Saver packets and M & Ms.
