The past few weeks, I have been bracing for onslaught of holiday shows that are starting. It is always a fun time, lots of sales but that means lots of hours on my couch with tools. This year, there are more shows than ever and I have tried to sign up for as many as possible.
This weekend, I am traveling to Baltimore for a trunk show at my friend Hoby’s Mom’s house. I had a trunk show at her house when I first started my business and it was so much fun. This weekend will be filled with trips to Grauls Market, Berger cookies, The Legacy Chase at Shawan Downs and our trunk show on Sunday. Can’t wait. I am crossing my fingers that ESW from Let the Tide Pull Your Dreams Ashore will stop by so we can finally meet! I love being at Dede’s house, so any chance to get there and I will show up.
Monday morning, we are hopping on the train and heading to NYC. I am lucky enough to have a table in the silent auction section at the Buoniconti Fund’s Great Sports Legends Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria. Last year, this event was so fun and successful, hoping for the same. Staying with BFF Nicole and super excited to see her and her family.
Two weeks later, I will be at the Junior League of Jacksonville’s Holiday Market, October 10-12th.
I am hoping my Mom will help me out with this one! I am also hoping that some old friends that live in Jacksonville will come see me.
The rest of my schedule is shaping up and I will publish it very soon.
My other big news is that after suffering with slightly blurry vision for a while thinking it was just me needing a new eyeglass prescription, I finally went to the eye doctor and it looks like I have cataracts in my left eye. I couldn’t have been more shocked. My appointment with the specialist is tomorrow morning and I am super nervous. I spent my whole childhood wearing glasses and waiting in the eye doctor’s waiting room, so it is not my favorite doctor to visit, Will let you know how it goes.
WIll finally be able to see,
I love a good award show and the Emmys are one of my favorites. I watched on delay so I could fast forward through commercials but was glued to the red carpet. These are the few that I liked..maybe the least amount of any award show I can remember…
Taylor Schilling in Thakoon
Katrina Bowden n Badgley Mischka
Laura Dern in Naeem Khan
Claire Danes in Armani Prive
Michelle Dockery in Prada
Rose Byrne in Calvin Klein
Kate Mara in J Mendel
Ariel Winter in Lorena Sarbu
Anna Gunn in Romona Keveza
Cobie Smulders in J. Mendel
Gosh are they all pink?
My favorite of this batch is Laura Dern’s dress..very pretty
My thoughts are slightly distracted tonight knowing that people in the UK are watching Episode 1 of Season 4 of Downton Abbey. Praying the link on Facebook works again this year for links to the episodes.
Glued to the tv,
On my list of pending purchases: a blue and white Chinese porcelain garden stool to fit between two white chairs in my living room. They are plentiful on One Kings Lane right now and for very reasonable prices.
They are such an easy accent to decorate with…
Are you not a member of One Kings Lane yet?
My Meg Carter order from the Atlanta Gift Show arrived on Saturday. I am in LOVE with this tassel necklace. The navy blue one might have to stay with me. Tassels have always been a favorite of mine.tassels, ruffles and sparkles-I can’t get enough of them.
Trying to get through my Monday,
Since 50 Shades of Gray has taken over the news cycle this week with the casting of the main characters for the movie, I thought I would do a post on gray and how it’s all the rage..in every way.
Decorating with gray is kind of easy since it really goes with so many other colors. A bunch of my friends swear by Benjamin Moore’s Intense White paint which is a very pale gray. Of course, there are many, many shades of gray…way more than 50! The only thing I will say about the movie is it was inevitable that people would be disappointed in the casting since it was hard not to have an image in mind of these characters. I think going with virtual unknowns is the smart move. Personally, I thought the books were entertaining but I am glad Amazon has stopped suggesting similar books for me to read. Those emails were driving me crazy!
Last week, I jumped on the Gigi bandwagon and ordered my first All-In-One clutch. I had the worst time picking out a color and ended up with black. When you sign up for their newsletter, they send you a 10% off coupon code, which is VIP.
My original plan was to carry them myself but the nice man at Graphic Image told me he was limiting trunk show customers so I was out of luck. So frustrating..but my bag arrived and I am so in love. It is the perfect size and fits all my stuff.
This weekend, they offered free monogramming and they have extended this nice offer. Hurry before it is gone!! This bag retails for $105 plain, $120 with initials with free shipping. Check out the amazing Gigi clutch bags here. Everyone could use at least three. My next color is fuchsia!
Loving my All-In-One,
