Project Holly in House Beautiful

Houston designer Bailey Quin McCarthy is featured in House Beautiful with a whimsically decorated home that is so fun to look at.  I like something in every room.  The designer owns a store called Biscuit Home Decor in Houston and is the voice behind the blog.   This home is called “Project Holly”.  It resonates with beautiful accents but overall, she creates a comfortable looking home, which is always the best goal.

I would sleep so well in that master bedroom,

Polaroid Foto Bar

Today I finally popped into the Polaroid Fotobar at the Falls.  Having walked by it several times, I am so glad I walked in there.  After a quick tutorial by the sales girl, I hooked up my phone to the computer and with a few quick clicks, I could upload pics to be printed out asap.

There are a bunch of options and it is not for penny pinchers, that’s for sure.  Each small print is $1 and the larger ones start at $10.  You can get them printed to look like a Polaroid or a normal picture and there are many size options.

There are tons of options on how to display these pictures.  I fell in love with a small album that holds 32 pictures and was $20.  So, that would be $52 for a small album, a little more than I wanted to spend.

One idea I had since I am years behind with my pictures going in albums was to go through your phone and print out the pictures you want and just keep them in a bowl on your coffee table.  So fun to be able to look through them and touch them instead of scrolling through your phone.

There are shadowboxes…

Glass photo holders…

 Cube holders…

And much more…

How fun is this idea?  I think I am going to need to spend an entire afternoon here to get started.  I am desperate to get my pictures off my phone and in some type of album.  This might be answer.

ALSO..Waterlogue lovers, Meg printed out a picture from Waterlogue in the 9 x 12 size and it came out fantastic since they are printed on card stock.

Feeling photo relieved,

Best Dressed Academy Awards 2014

I actually left my house today without setting my DVR to record the Academy Awards.   Then, a delayed flight of friends had me delayed to be sitting in front of my television-something that I don’t think has ever happened that I can remember.  Technology saved the day, my AT&T U-Verse app on my phone let me set the recordings from a few miles away  I was not 100% sold on this working, so I made back up plans, but it did and I returned home and watched on delay, avoiding all social media to not ruin any surprises.  The fashion this year was interesting..lots of white and simple lines, but pretty for sure.  Here are some of my favorites…

Emma Watson in Vera Wang
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture

Julia Roberts in Givenchy

Lara Spencer in Kaufman Franco

Olivia Pope..oh sorry Kerry Washington in Jason Wu

Penelope Cruz in Giambattista Valli

Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab Couture

Glenn Close in Zac Posen

Jennifer Garner in Oscar de la Renta

Calista Flockhart in Andrew Gn
Giuliana Rancic in Paolo Sebastian

Naomi Watts in Calvin Klein Collection

Sally Field in Randi Rahm

and favorite Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive

In Oscar Heaven,
