2019 Golden Globes Red Carpet

What is a more fun way to start 2019 than a huge awards show?  I have been on vacation for 2 weeks and was so sad to get back to work tomorrow..realizing that the Golden Globes were on tonight really made my day!!!

Here was some of my favorites of the red carpet….

Emmys Rundown 2017

Thank goodness the Emmys were on tonight to distract everyone from thinking about hurricanes.  Things are still so shockingly off kilter in Miami from Hurricane Irma and now Maria is barreling towards us.  Not sure if people can take another big storm. Anyway, I love a good red carpet and there were some pretty dresses tonight. Here are some of the highlights…
Julie Bowen in Alberta Ferretti

Academy Awards 2017 Highlights

The Academy Awards is my Super Bowl.  I was so excited to get situated and ready to watch.  The Red Carpet was interesting this year..some really cool dresses but nothing I really loved. I can’t wait to watch Fashion Police because they usually LOVE one that didn’t really stand out on TV but in person was really spectacular.
Right before it started at 8:30, I saw this on Instagram…

Meaning..Gwyneth will not be at the Oscars.  So sad…

But Karlie Kloss in Stella McCartney was looking a little Gwyneth-esque.

Kirsten Dunst in Christian Dior Haute Couture

Nicole Kidman in Armani Prive-so beautiful

Jessica Biel in Kaufman Franco

Taraji P. Henson in Alberta Ferretti

Hailee Steinfeld in Ralph & Russo

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton and Busy Phillips in Elizabeth Kennedy

Leslie Mann in Zac Posen
Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton

Dakota Johnson in Gucci
Olivia Culpo in Marchesa

Darby Stanchfield in Georges Chakra
Emma Stone in Givency
Janelle Monae in Elie Saab
Brie Larson in Oscar de la Renta
Viola Davis in Armani Prive
Some of my favorite moments…
The opening number with JT..so fun
The tour bus folks coming through the front row…
The candy dropping from the ceiling…
It was all so amazing until Warren Beatty messed it up and named La La Land as Best Picture, everyone was excited and the speeches started and then a bunch of men came up grabbing envelopes and then embarassingly, they named Moonlight as the Best Picture.  Crazytown…

Love the Oscars,

Screen Actor’s Guild Awards Red Carpet

I love award season..right about now there is an awards show every week leading up to the Academy Awards.  The SAG Awards is a favorite because it is actors voting for actors and people are drinking and are funny and say all sorts of crazy things.  Here are my favorite red carpet picks:

Natalie Portman in Dior Couture

Taraji P. Henson in Reem Acra

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton

Kirsten Dunst in Dior-this is my fav

Sofia Vergara in Zuhair Murad

Sophia Bush in Marchesa

J. Crew Treats

There are some fun treats at J. Crew right now.  I am so hit or miss there, sometimes I go in and I want EVERYTHING and other times, not so much.  A lot of J. Crew clothes are made for flat super skinny girls so that makes it quite a challenge.  That said, I love how fun everything is and I love that most things aren’t terribly expensive so when I find things that work, I am so excited.  Here are the things on my list right now…

Side-Slit Sweater with Striped Ties $79.50
Popover in Ratti Striped Floral $98
Striped Boatneck Tunic with Tie $78
Cotton Elephant Cover-Up $59.50
Tulle Cuffed Striped T-Shirt $45
Italian Calf Hair Clutch $69.50
Happy Shopping!

I’ll Take Diane Lockhart’s Wardrobe Please

Knowing that I need to make tons of jewelry in the last two weeks, I started watching The Good Wife from season 1 on Hulu to keep me entertained.  I have seen every episode of this show, but it is one of my favorites so it is watchable for a second run.  While re-watching this series, one thing became very clear, Christine Baranski’s character Diane Lockhart has the best wardrobe around.

Episode after episode, her classic, elegant clothing accented by beautiful jewelry and her perfectly coiffed hair stood out.  Her having an extremely trim figure doesn’t hurt either, obviously, but she seriously takes power dressing to another level…

So sad to see this show end..one of my favorites!

Gucci Vibes

Gucci has a different look these days.  New creative director Alessandro Michele is really designing outside the red and green striped box!  Check out these recent runway looks…

One runway look that has caught fire is the Princetown Slipper.
The kangaroo fur-lined version retails for $995 but that hasn’t stopped many people from purchasing them…they are almost sold out.

Some celebrities have been wearing them…

 Sienna Miller

Dakota Johnson

Mary Kate Olsen

Alexa Chung

Wiz Khalifa
And fashion bloggers…

They are available in select sizes on the Bloomingdales website…

On the Gucci website, they have small and large sizes but none in between…

If the black with the fur aren’t your bag, there are other options…

Loving Gucci since Junior High,

Leopards + Spots

Leopard is everywhere these days.  It pops up at Fashion Week, in home design, accessories and everywhere in between.  It doesn’t seem to really go out of fashion.  Jackie Kennedy had Oleg Cassini design her a leopard coat when she was the First Lady and it nearly caused the animal to go extinct.  Fast forward to 2016 and it is still so popular except these days, it is not real skins.  It is a constant neutral…

So many famous people have been “spotted” in leopard.

FWPE16 Tendance mode de la Fashion Week printemps-ete 2016 : le leopard 2

It’s such a popular accent in interior design..

some of my favorite artists include leopard in their work..
Caitlin McGauley
Patricia Van Essche
Lilly Pulitzer

Mari Design

Erisha at a thing created

and it pops up on products…

I love leopard and glad it is always in fashion..

2016 Academy Awards

I live to see the Academy Awards and absorb all the amazing fashion.  This year was half disappointing and half very rewarding. Since there are so many awards shows these days in a concentrated time frame, it is frustrating to see actresses wearing not their best choice to the biggest one of them all.  Nevertheless, there were some stand outs…

Naomi Watts looked A M A Z I N G in Armani Prive.  I love the dress, her hair and her jewels–so elegant.  She looks like a true movie star.

Olivia Munn in Stella McCartney

Sofia Vergara in Marchesa..she is meant to be on the Red Carpet.

Emily Blunt pretty in pink with her baby bump in Prada

Jennifer Garner dressed to kill in Atelier Versace

Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive

Saoirse Ronan in Calvin Klein Collection

Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior

Julianne Moore in Chanel Haute Couture

Charlize Theron in Christian Dior

Rooney Mara in Givenchy Haute Couture

Brie Larson in Gucci

Margot Robbie in Tom Ford

Reese Witherspoon in Oscar de la Renta

and a close up of her Tiffany jewels..

Some favorite moments…

Kate and Leo on the Red Carpet.

I don’t love Kate’s dress but I die over them walking the Red Carpet together.

and then the 6th time was a charm for Leo.  So happy that he finally won.  His speech was so great and I loved the end when he said “I don’t take this night for granted”.

And then the Vanity Fair Oscar Party…

Elizabeth Banks in Ralph & Russo

Tory Burch in Tory Burch

Carey Lowell

Serena Gomez in Louis Vuitton

Leo and Chris Rock

Jennifer Garner and her Alias dad Victor Garber

Lovebirds Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton

Jennifer Flavin and Sylvester Stallone-my heart broke for him

Lynn Wyatt and Georgina Chapman

So many fun pictures..I might add more later.

Happy Leap Year Day!
