New Instagram

After going back and forth for weeks, I finally opened an Instagram account for Kristin Pearce Designs.  I have been constantly worried about over posting about my business on my regular Instagram account so now I can post about all the things I am currently selling and the people that want to see that content can follow me there.  If this experiment doesn’t work out..I can always go back-this is what I keep telling myself.

I have a crazy love affair with Instagram.  It is the first thing I look at on my phone when I wake up in the morning and catch myself looking at it many times throughout the day.  I find it so inspiring to see all the design accounts, fashion and of course, what my friends are up to. Not to mention all the celebrities I follow..it is such amazing access into people’s lives.

So, if you want to see what is going on in Kristin Pearce Designs, please follow my new instagram page:

The plan is to keep it up to date with all my new things and focusing on best sellers.

Tour of Kitchens 2017

This weekend I was lucky enough to be able to participate in the Tour of Kitchens benefitting the Coral Gables Community Foundation.  My table filled with goodies was in the courtyard at the most beautiful house on Hardee Road.
It was so much fun to see lots of friends and customers and I was able to give out tons of the new Miami Scout Guide.
Friday, the new clutches from Brooke Wright Designs arrived, so I was able to bring them with me.  They were definitely a hit!  They come in two sizes, small for $45 and large for $55.  I will definitely be re-ordering because I love them so much!
Hope you had a great weekend!

Sneak Peek of New Website

I finally got to work on my site adding products.  Since I haven’t had a photo shoot yet, I added products that I already had picture of.
 This is the home page…
The bottom of the home page…
I added a few of my new clutch purses…
Keyrings…
 Cute tassel necklaces…
After the Tour of Kitchens this Saturday, I will be working on adding more.  I might open up my site not finished and without personalized items until my website dudes help me figure out how to add them.  This is not the easiest project-which is why it was easy for me to put it on hold for so long.
Keep an eye out for a website announcement soon!

Up in Fort Lauderdale…

So happy to be invited again to participate at the University of Miami Forum on Women’s Health Luncheon today at Lauderdale Yacht Club.  This is the fourth year in a row that I have been a vendor and it was great, as usual. Lots of new customers and about ten ladies asking where my store is?  Well, that is a good question, but right now my store is a table here or there at various events…

Two long tables, my favorite set up..

I spread my totes out on an extra table after lunch…

I am loving this new line, Donovan Designs.  During the luncheon, I sold out of the chunky notepads today many of the cute note sheet sets (above).

Always featuring Haute Papier’s letterpress gift tags…

Lots of new fabric pouches…
Tons of stretchy wood beads bracelets with tassels…

Such a fun day. I am  trying to plan a big show before the end of the month.  I have tons of new things and lots of things on sale..keep an eye out!

Today went well, so I might be getting the J.Crew tassel sandals,

Rain-go away..seriously!

This post was supposed to be published this morning!  I am so determined to post every day in January..then in February-I will post Monday through Fridays 🙂
Today was so beautiful for the arts festival! My tent is under a big tree so it stayed cool even when the sun came out. I saw so many people today-old friends and fellow Beaux Arts members. It really is one of my favorite weekends.
My pal Meredith had a poster made to advertise the Scout Guide on the side of my tent. It’s so big-I had to laugh when I saw it.
The weather tomorrow is not looking great
Hoping my tent is securely in the ground!

This Weekend…

Today, I am traveling to Atlanta for the gift show, but this weekend…

Is one of my favorites..the Beaux Arts Festival of Art at the UM campus.  My little tent is in the UHealth Family Fun Zone across from the Lowe Art Museum.  It will probably look just like last year’s tent…

I have tons of new things and lots of classics..come check it out if you are in town!  Just made these pretty necklaces tonight…

Hope to see you soon!

The Scout Guide

Last year, the Scout Guide finally came to Miami.  My friend Meredith became the Editor and soon enough she was all over town signing people up.  I knew I wanted to be in it and had already thought of what I would want my ad to look like.  Of course, when things started happening, my vision took some twists and turns but the end result was so great.
We went to a natural light studio in the middle of nowhere and had 3 hours to get the job done.  Carolyn my photographer and Helen my assistant for the day helped me get it all together..it was a little crazy. We set up a all my stuff on a piece of furniture like it was a trunk show.  I brought some of my blue and white porcelain, wanting to make sure my personal style was mixed with the products that I sell…
We got to work and started shooting

We tried me sitting down and then standing up…

Carolyn was also my part-time stylist

and ultimately, figured out the right mix.
After we thought we had enough shots to work with, I got Carolyn to take some more pics since my Mom always tells me she doesn’t have any pictures of me…

So, I got this one..which I meant to have framed for my parents…

We got home and I watched Carolyn edit some of the better pictures.  She is a complete whiz at Photoshop..I couldn’t believe how many small things in the pictures needed a little fixing.  Once we decided on the right one, we sent it to the Scout Guide and after a few edits, we ended up with this…
And this is what it looked like when it arrived in the actual guide..so fun!
I am in such good company, so many friends advertised in the Miami Scout Guide as well.  The launch party was held at the Biltmore and one of our friends Maria Maloof helped Meredith plan her big event.  Held in the Alhambra Ballroom, the party was beautiful…
Loved Meredith’s Editor page..so awesome…

August…

The only bummer of enjoying an unbelievable vacation in July is that August is horrendous.  It is so hot and sticky here in Miami, it is hard to take.  I haven’t even attempted to go down to my pool, and it shows in my crazy paleness.  Around this time I always have a conflicted sense of being sad that summer is almost over and happy for Fall to start.  Fall is always such a busy and exciting time for my business and I am ready this year to get started.

My goals for the rest of August are:
1.  Clean out my closet
2.  Organize all of my kp designs stuff (still in bags from my trip)
3.  Have my panels made for my bedroom
4.  Paint my bedroom
5.  Have two chairs recovered in fabric I purchased 7 months ago.

I feel like if I put this list out there in the universe, it has a better chance of being accomplished.  Most of this list is doable, but realistically, the first two are most likely to happen and I will keep working on the last 3.
I will back-post about my trip this week.  It really was so much fun, but two highlights were:

Making it to the Galley to catch this sunset.
Our first attempt earlier in the week was not so fruitful…

and at my Pop Up Shop, a long time reader came who happened to be on Nantucket.  Her name was Laura and she was so nice, it made my day!
Hope everyone is having a nice summer.
